This is day 56 of our journey.

The Israelites are nearing the promised land and preparing to go in! Today we read a list of all the places the Israelites have camped in their journey from Egypt and wandering in the desert. 38 different campsites are listed over a 40 year period. Meanwhile, on the banks of the Jordan River after taking the land of Gilead, Manasseh and Gad approach Moses with a request. They are pleased with the land on the east of the Jordan and want to settle here. Moses grants them this land as long as they first help Israel subdue the rest of the promised land.

Join me in Numbers 32-33 as we remember the long journey that led Israel to entering the land of God's Promise.

Numbers 33:55

But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, then those whom you allow to remain will be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your side, and will cause you trouble in the land where you will be living.
