To wrap up the Reformation/ modern day parallels, I'm focusing on the similarities between the statism of today, with the U.S. as the example, and religion historically, with Christianity as the example. Statism isn't just like a religion or have a few commonalities. Statism is a religion and should be viewed as such to better understand the world of politics today.
