As mentioned last Sunday, this book of 2 Thessalonians that we are working our way through was written to correct a false report this church had received, and put to rest some great alarm that it caused. It had to do with Jesus return, and the false report was that the Apostle Paul had written some kind of letter saying that the Day of the Lord was already here. In correcting that misinformation, Paul gives us some good teaching on what the truth is concerning the end times. Chapter 2, which we are looking at today, is the meat of that teaching in this book.
