At last you have left - my insecticide is spent Though your screw driver voice is reverberating Your tongue it got bent - drilling holes in my head Now I’m smoothing hurts by restorative ironing And though they must have a role in ecosystems I’m so glad to see the last of the summer flies I’m so glad to see the last of the summer flies

It’s in the news each day Insects will fade away Unless we realise Every living thing has a vital place
