This month we talk to Dr James Worrall about Oman. James discusses his latest research into Oman’s controlled-hybrid-decentralization process, so termed for its unique mixture of neo-liberal and technocratic solutions, acting in combination with traditional ruling elements. Dr James Worrall is a Professor in International Relations and Middle East Studies at the University of Leeds. His research interests lie in the fields of Security Studies and International Relations and include: Western relations with the Arab World, Gulf Politics and Security, Regional International Organisations, Decolonisation, Counterinsurgency Strategy, Security Sector Reform, Regime Stability and Legitimacy in non-democratic states and Diplomatic theory and practice.
