The Government of Alberta supports producers in the face of proposed federal regulation changes. Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development Minister Nate Horner and Health Minister Jason Copping responded to new proposed Health Canada ground meat labelling requirements.

Clarification: total retail sales retail for Canada are $28.2 billion nationally. Of that number, 15.5% is ground meat, which equals to $4.34 billion nationally. This includes beef, turkey, chicken and pork, veal, lamb.
