Crested Butte Mountain Rescue is asking backcountry users to use frequency 7-0 on their radios as a common frequency.

The 7-0 frequency should be used to let other groups know where your group is and vice versa as well as communicate about possible avalanche activity observed.

The goal is not to have a place for chit-chat or to replace rescue techniques and emergency services.
