A recent water sampling up the Slate River Valley is part of a larger project that helps agricultural producers throughout the west plan for irrigation and other farming and ranching activities in the coming non-snow months.

KBUT's Chad Reich joined representatives from the BLM, the Forest Service, and the Gunnison Conservation District to learn more about how the sampling takes place and what the data is used for.
