This past weekend I traveled back to the year of 1806 and landed in Beacon Hill, a prominent African American neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts. As I walked up Joy St. I had no idea that I was walking in my ancestors footsteps, the same street that was once a destination point on the Underground Railroad. When I realized where I was I could feel the spirit of my ancestors as I entered the oldest black church in the nation and the oldest public school builtĀ for African-American children. Tune in and time travel back with me 200+ years.
