Buzzkill’s purpose is to talk about the topics required for a successful IT project that aren’t given the time, budget, or chance to succeed. Topics like change management, information management, adoption, and training. Topics that traditionally have been pushed off the IT task list because the definition of project success was a deployed technology, but that old project mentality doesn’t hold true anymore. Rapid feature deployment and a broader enterprise-wide focus have made success look at usage statistics, a decrease in competing technologies and Shadow IT, and user satisfaction.

We had a great time exploring some of the reasons why, when it comes to strategy, communication, change management and other aspects of project implementation, having a diverse team is essential. We all agreed organizations really need more than developers and administrators to get things done. Training, communication and project management skills are fundamentally necessary in getting things done!
