- Determine what your goals are as a filmmaker. What impact do you want to have?
- Determine what the goals of the specific film will be.
- Find a story people can relate to.
- Find a compelling character.
- Identify the conflict or challenge.
- Ask yourself "What is unique or surprising about this story?"
