Genesis 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved (hb. – brooded like a mother hen on her eggs) upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1 1 In the beginning God (ELOHIM) created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was (hb. – BECAME) without form(hb. – tohu: confusion, waste, wilderness), and void(hb.- bohu: undistinguished ruin); and darkness (misery, death, destruction, sorrow, wickedness) was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Isaiah 45:18

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God (ELOHIM) himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established (ordered, perfected, provided prosperity) it, he created it not in vain(hb. – tohu: confusion, waste, wilderness), he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
