She discusses how she started coming out at the age of 45, and the process of dealing with her now ex-wife, kids, work, and volunteer activities who all knew her as a male and how Amy navigated the tricky waters of a social transition as transgender woman transitioning in her 40's and who has become a comic, advocate for the LGBT/LGBTQIA+ community, and who still is an active volunteer firefighter in her community.
