The final chapter sees Nansi, her new sister Bee and her mother getting ready for Christmas with Nansi's Grandad in his house, their new home.
On their return to Cardiff, Nansi returns to the theatre to try to find Bee so she and her mother can be introduced.
Nansi and her mother, confronted by a livid Sid, must conspire to escape his evil grip.

Nansi knows she needs to get as far away from the theatre as possible. For good. However, she is being trailed by the very people who would cause her most harm.
Violet Night steals the show on stage but afterwards Nansi finds herself hiding in a closet, listening to a conversation that violently explodes everything she holds dear to herself.
Nansi is busy as her second identity; the shadow, the thief. Later, she asks Con if she can borrow something.
Nansi is trying to figure out why Sid is bending over backwards to impress Violet Night. He's even getting Bee to design and create a new dress which requires using arsenic to achieve the green colour Ms Night is demanding. Nansi is furious.
Sid takes Nan and Bee for a long walk to a posh neighbourhood to show them the houses he wants them to steal from. Nan's worried about Bee getting involved in this.
Chapter 4 introduces us to Constance or Con for short. Bursting with personality, mischief and wisdom beyond her year she has Nansi in stitches. She seems to have Sid wrapped around her finger in ways Nan can only dream of.
Nansi spends a bright morning down the docks, searching among the throngs of workers, drunken thieves and scavengers for her mother.
Nansi is caught in the act of a late night burglary and nearly captured. Returning to the theatre injured, she faces the wrath and meanness of Sid.
Nansi tells us about herself and the different lives she has to lead to survive, from the bright lights to the dark shadows.
