Sutton Park School Choir is from Dublin, Ireland. The choir is mixed voice and range in age from 12 to 18 years and has been singing under the direction of Fionnuala Howard since 1986. The students love to sing. They perform one very special concert every year at Christmas in Howth, Co. Dublin. In 2014 the choir recorded an original single in aid of the Simon Community. The song, went to number one on the itunes, world genre chart. In 2016 The Choir performed on the stage of the Irish National Concert Hall as finalists in the Disney, ‘Song for 16’ Competition. In 2017 the Choir did a small tour and performance in Inishowen, Co Donegal. In 2018 the Choir gave a public recital on Saint Patrick’s Day in Disneyland, Paris. where they collaborated with the French Pianist Emmanuel Cuche, a son of one of Ireland’s Eurovision entrant, Maria Christiansen. The choir has been heard on Lyric Fm radio in the Choirs for Christmas Competition and on the radio programme ‘The Blue of the Night’. In the Spring of 2019 they were honoured to be selected for a masterclass with the world famous vocal group Chanticleer in the National Concert Hall and were delighted to win the Fitzpatrick Cup at the Wesley Feis. In October 2019 the choir did a collaborative exchange concert with Cor Juvenil del Conservatori Municipal de Música de Manresa from Catalonia and will travel to Catalonia in March 2020 to perform with their new musical friends there. The Choir has been singing Winter Fire and Snow by Brendan Graham from a poem by MacDara Woods for many years and it is a particular favourite piece to perform.
