This 50-strong choir is comprised of boys and girls aged 7 to 11 years. It performs at least twice yearly and presents repertoire from the Children’s Choral Literature, many from the pens of Irish composers such as Brian Boydell, John Buckley, Sue Furlong and Havelock Nelson.
Highlights of the choirs experience in recent years, was a recording of a CD, a performance for the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese on the occasion of her official visit to the School in 2008 and in 2011 participation in the CSM performance of Ralph Vaughan William’s Hodie. The children have also given guest performances at the Cork International Choral Festival. The choir is under the direction of Maria Judge, Head of Musicianship and Academic Studies and their accompanist is Deirdre Long.
