The Seafield Singers were founded by William Young in 1990 with the assistance of John Rowden. After Bill’s death in 2001 his wife Alison took over the role of musical director. Alison recently stepped down from this role and is once again our accompanist. In 2015, we were delighted to engage Elizabeth Hilliard as our musical director.

We are very proud that the proceeds of our concerts are for charities and to date we have raised over €230,000 for a variety of charities. Some performances have been in collaboration with other choirs including St. Patrick’s Cathedral and East Cork Choral Union. We also participate in St Ann’s Church in Dawson Street for their ‘Songs of Praise’ events and we will join them the week before Christmas to raise funds for the homeless in their Black Santa appeal.

Our Christmas concert this year is on 15th December in St John the Baptist Church on Seafield Road West, this year our charity is RNLI and we will be joined by David Bremner and Alison Young on organ and piano, Eoghan Desmond (baritone), and we are delighted that the soprano Deirdre Moynihan will compere for us.
