Paul continues to speak to people who are wrestling with their faith. So he writes with a distinct clarity necessary to help people understand the truth of faith and how it works apart from zealousness. People can be zealous all day long and it will not achieve for them salvation.  Faith in Jesus Christ, however, is the foundation of salvation.
