Welcome to the fourth TELECAST. A new series of podcasts that will be released mostly monthly. With the humble aim of combining the music I find, love and want to share into a set for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully, it will become your go-to place for a fix of good music.
About Telecast - #004 A while back, in a country not too far away, I found a record label that struck a chord with me. Their name is @Analog-Africa and their slogan is equally striking: The future of music happened decades ago... How right they are! They showcase an amazing mix of African music that’s being (re)released outside the limits of Africa and mostly finds its origins in the 70s. This label goes beyond music by releasing rare photographs, interviews and full discographies. Occasionally, they take a trip to South America as well.
To me, this shows the love for a continent and it’s music the way it should be. Being truthful to musicians, all releases are fully licensed, and being brought back into the spotlight that otherwise might have never seen the attention they deserve outside of the dark continent.
Needless to say, when I found the label I was inspired and so I decided to make a tribute to them. For this set I picked music from a number of releases from Amara Touré released between 1973 and 1980, music from Benin released somewhere between 1969-1981 and Colombian music released between 1960-1985. You'll also find random tracks I fell in love with from this label.
