This is a hard podcast. James Polk was hands down, one of the most accomplished Presidents we have ever had. All of it undermined by the fact that 10 years after his Presidency the country will be in a bloody civil war because he, like the 10 Presidents before him did everything else besides doing the one thing that needed to be done: ending slavery.
