Fire must be kept burning on the altar continually; it must not go out. -- Leviticus 6:13 (CSB)

In the Old Testament, God instructed the Israelites to keep a torch burning at the altar to remind them of the holiness of God. As New Testament believers, we are not bound to maintain a literal torch, but we're no less obligated to remember the Lord's holiness.
