Do your days as a mom just feel like one interruption after another? Maybe you feel like as soon as you start to get into a task or get a moment of peace, your kids will need you, and some days it feels like you can’t get ANYTHING done. And now that everyone is always home all the time? Well, LIFE feels like one big interruption these days, and it can be hard to know just what to do with that. Today we’re talking about how to respond to interruptions, and we’ll see that Jesus offers an incredibly helpful example of just how to handle them.

What We Can Learn From How Jesus Responds to Interruptions

1. When you encounter interruptions, respond with love and compassion.
2. When it comes to your plans and your schedule, have open hands and a surrendered heart.
3. Be creative in finding time to care for your soul.

This week’s practice:

Read the story of Jesus that we talked about today in Matthew 14:13-23. Notice the love and compassion of Jesus as he responds to the crowd, and how he handles being interrupted. Ask God to give you wisdom and compassion for your kids as you learn to love and serve in the way Jesus did.

Start your day by saying a prayer of surrender over your schedule and your plans, giving your day to God, ready to respond to interruptions in patience and love.
