Does the start of a new year make you feel like you need to change your entire life all at once? Maybe you put pressure on yourself to suddenly fix everything that feels wrong in your life all at one time. In this episode, we’ll talk about a simpler, much more doable way to approach change as we start a new year.

Show Notes:

The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman

Small Steps for Spiritual Growth:

Read one chapter of the bible.

Read one verse of the bible.

Turn off the radio on your drive to pick up the kids from school, and spend that time in silence and prayer.

Say a prayer of gratitude for your day before you go to bed.

Listen to one worship song, and really listen to the words and reflect on them.

This week’s practice:

Think about a goal you have or an area of life that feels overwhelming, and just do the next right thing. Instead of trying to change your whole entire life, pick one thing to do and let that be enough. Write it down, check it off, and rest in knowing that you don’t have to do it all. Just do the next right thing.
