Doctrine is the maker of men in the kingdom. It comes from the Latin word “Doctrine” and it means the teachings or instructions. By definition, doctrine is a set of truths that are accepted by a standard and taught. When we don’t trust the standard, there will be a compromise to the reference. To begin with, there should be a level of standard that a believer must have attained after certain years of being in the kingdom.

The Bible is laced with intense emphasis on the need to be grounded in sound doctrine. The communication of doctrine is what takes a believer from ignorance or infancy to a mature state.

It is important to know that doctrine is not Bible college training; it is the message we have been sent to preach. Doctrine is not the anointing; but the preserver of the anointing. It profits everyone across demographic and social strata.

The devil is against the preaching or communication of the doctrine of Christ. He is not bothered when we open new churches provided the doctrine being preached is not right. The doctrine we communicate must be captured in the old testament, manifested in the life of Christ and in the life of the apostles. Otherwise, it does not qualify as doctrine.

Nowadays, an average believer does not understand the basic doctrine of the Kingdom. And this is largely due to self-magnified personal opinions people are teaching as doctrine. This is also responsible for the divisions we see in the body. Like two medical doctors from different institutions are able to hold conversation on medical issues, believers ought be able to converse, pray and agree on matters irrespective of denomination having been taught the same doctrine of Christ. For us to have sound doctrine, we need to be disciples. A disciple is one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrine of another. Discipleship is the spiritual system that mentors a believer to have a sound doctrine.

For diverse doctrines in the church to be corrected, we need to submit our visions and ourselves to the curriculum of doctrine. We must also understand that there is no graduation in the school of doctrine. Having a sound Doctrine starts from mentorship from the body of Christ. It starts from identifying the group of men/body that exhumes the doctrine.
