The great thesis of the books of Ecclesiastes is wrapped up in the first verse of the twelfth chapter. The thesis is that if we give God His rightful place early in our lives, then we can enjoy the rest of our lives. This is God's plan. He wants us to remember Him in our youth and lay a strong foundation for the rest of life. When we follow His plan, we find great pleasure in knowing that we have lived our lives for Him.
