Because her husband served as President for more than three terms, Eleanor Roosevelt served the United States as First Lady longer than any other, and she’s one of the most beloved and admired women to hold the title. Showtime’s new series, The First Lady, features Gillian Anderson playing Roosevelt. Anderson, who’s already won two Emmy Awards, may find herself in the running again for her work on the show, which she considered to be something special.
