For the New Year, be resolved to pray more. Make prayer the priority of your daily life. Consider buying a devotional with the daily Mass readings. And beginning every day by asking God, “Lord what do you want m to hear today.” Then prayerfully read the Mass readings and see what the Lord has to say. Reflect and ponder a bit in silence. Then write a brief reflection in a journal, describing what spoke to you in the readings and why. If you are reminded of a particular aspect of your life or feel convicted to address this or that, jot that down as well. This will give the Lord a chance to be better heard and understood by you in 2016. Happy New Year!
