I am a Black mom that prospered through the struggle. My son has not experienced even an ounce of what I have. Even after overcoming my own struggles, I now have a bigger struggle.....raising a Black boy in America.
My son's father is a passive aggressive, religious soul, whose parents are deacons in a church. I, on the other hand, am an agnostic, Black men are Gods, Universal Laws, Malcolm X kind of mom, but I AM NOT A SINGLE MOTHER!
My son is a technical, logical, analytical thinker. He listens to every word said. As I am homeschooling him, I instructed him to go type his essay. He looks at me confused and he ask "what essay? do you mean my formal letter assignment?" Yes child that! Lol
Tune is as I answer questions that pop up in my son's big brain. The best advice I have ever received on parenting was talk to your children how you would talk to your grandparents. I've been doing this since he was born so please be blown away.........
