Father, you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit to make us holy. Through them we come to know the mystery of your life. Help us to worship you, one God in three Persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Todays Focus : Newcomers to Canada

FACTS:

Canada welcomed 313,580 immigrants in 2019. Ontario welcomed 139 071 immigrants in 2019.

PVNCCDSB supports 170 newly arrived English Language Learners.

PVNCCDSB also supports approximately 400 students whose first language is not English

.

It takes 5-7 years to learn academic English and only 2 years to learn basic interpersonal communication skills.
