There is power and freedom in forgiveness. Holding onto past hurts can be debilitating. At times we may convince ourselves that by holding onto feelings of resentment and bitterness towards another will allow them to feel the pain they caused us in the first place. But the real power that brings change is forgiveness. If you want to impact those that have hurt you, “Always forgive your enemies – nothing annoys them so much,” says the poet Oscar Wilde. Forgiveness is redemptive in nature. It not only releases the forgiver, but it potentially can restore the forgiven. It is a message that we often harp on about as Christians, but with good reason. It's often the very thing we struggle with the most, loving people that are hard to love. It has been an exciting season of new births in Jesus. Join us this Sabbath as we celebrate the last baptisms for this year at Hamilton Central. God is doing amazing things in our little community. Keep praying for the Holy Spirit to be poured out as lives are being changed and drawn towards the heart of God.
Menani will be sharing the message with us this Sabbath called"Finding God in the mess"When we are at our lowest point in life, even to the point of death, God is still there. For He promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Trials can be very difficult to go through. However, God allows us to go through them for various reasons; to perfect our character and strengthen our faith in Him.

The hope of Christ’s return is the ultimate hope for the believer. It is exciting to think about the coming of Jesus, the day when all wrongs will be made right, every pain is healed, when justice is finally served and our loved ones are brought back to life. But best of all, we will see Jesus face to face. Its almost too good to be true, but it is, and so we hope. The Reality of Hope in Jesus
The biblical worldview for hope is not wishful thinking or unreasonable positivity. The Bible describes the hope of eternal life with God; it is as sure as the day is long and is dependable as the ocean's tide. Why? Because God has promised it to those, who trust in Him. Come and join Hamilton Central this week as Pr Jordan opens the first in a four-part series on " Reasons 4 Hope."
The theme is exploring where our ideological priorities lie as Christians and choosing our battles every day so that we don't get caught up in fickle differences of opinion.
Have you ever felt like your walk with God is not as it should be? Or that you feel like you need revival? It is encouraging to know that no matter what you may feel, God is always with you through life's hills and valleys. The Psalmist pleads for spiritual restoration by saying, " Won't you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people." Psalm 85:6-8 NLT.

In the Last Days we are told there will be False Prophets. As we get closer to Jesus second coming how can we protect ourselves from being deceived by False Prophets. This week we look at a short Bible story in which we can gain some tips so that we won't be deceived.
Praise the Lord for Dad's! Throughout the Bible, God describes His relationship with you and me as compared to a father and child. This can inspire feelings of love and safety when you have had a good dad or fatherly role model in your life, but if not, it can be an un-relatable analogy. Fathers play a crucial role in every child's life; at the very least, they have helped participate in sharing the gift of life with their child. But God calls fathers to be so much more. Not only providing the basic necessities for their families but to be present and model the love and grace of God to their children. The Seventh Day Adventist Church grew out of the Great Disappointment of 1844. We have much to learn from these early believers, and many insights can be gained by looking at the music they used. Come with us as we take a journey back in time and relive some of the highlights of the Early Advent Movement, through the music they used.
Every person has priorities, things that they deem more important than others. It comes down to how we spend our money, how we spend our time and what comes first. Each individual is chosen and bought by paying a price-the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Whatever be the colour, cast, creed, status the price paid is the same- the precious blood of Jesus. So, those who are in Christ, in the fast changing Econoic conditions of the world market, the price tag is the same. It remains unchanged- the value of the precious blood. It is offered for all. It has a definite purpose wash the sin from the world and it serves it. We have nothing do for it. Just accept it, help others to get it and live with it eternally with our Holly Father.

Though often coming from a good place of intent, it can also be a terrible experience met with eye rolls and, tragically, fractured relationships. "In the Bible, the theme of “the Way” is repeated over and over. So much so, early Christians were called “people of the Way.” This theme is a way in which God reveals Jesus to you and me. It reveals the love of God actively engaged for the salvation of all. “The Way” is an invitation to believe in who God says He is, and not what we fear or hope Him to be. For Jesus is far better than we could hope or imagine. "
God has called us to grow our relationship with Him! That doesn’t happen by accident though, and it takes all of God’s help. So how do we grow walk with Jesus? Join us this Sabbath morning as we look into the life of someone from the bible who did it part-way through his life, and leaves us a great example.

The disciples were in the heart of the Sea of Galilee when a raging storm came upon them. Their response to it was fear, not faith. Likewise, we face a growing storm as we get closer to Jesus’ return. What can we learn from the disciples’ experience, so our response is faith and not fear?
Pr Jerry has a sermon called A Case of the Twisties: The True Purpose of the Signs of the Times. Are the Signs of the Times that we find in Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3 merely to tell us that the Kingdom of God is near or are they in fact, to remind us as followers of Jesus Christ, that the Kingdom of God is already here? This is a message that is very relevant for the times we are living in, and we are sure you will be blessed by the message!
Rowan Jones will be sharing a message on how God's wisdom from the bible can help us in times like we are living today. We have never been promised an easy life on this earth, in fact quite the opposite. In life we will always face decisions, sometimes really hard decisions. Where can we turn to in such times? Calling upon God's wisdom is the best place to start. Join with us as we look at God's wisdom in His word.
We have come to the end of our series Blooming in the Boom of Babylon and this Sabbath Pr Jeremy will be sharing our final message called The Roots of Two Cursed Trees, we will be looking at an overview of the final chapters of the Book of Daniel as well as looking at two trees that Christ encountered on his last week on earth and how these encounters are very pertinent to our faith as we continue to bloom and thrive in a world that is full of confusion. Alan Fletcher will be sharing another message with us. This Sabbaths message is called It matters until it doesn’t…and it doesn’t until it does looking into Daniel 9 part 10 of our Booming in the Bloom of Babylon series.
Daniel sees only a handful of Jews willing to return after the exile, while many are too comfortable where they are, and he wonders what really matters to them? God’s message is to look ahead at what happens when the things that should matter don’t. Daniel unlocks the key of knowing about God’s period of grace that is given to the Jews before they lose what matters to them. And after 2300 years of extended grace, what is happening now? Are we ready to go home? Or is it too comfortable here? Do we really know what matters? Daniel’s prayer is the key. A prayer we need to be willing to pray ourselves.
In Daniel 8 we will dig past the empires and kingdoms and get to the hard question that had left Daniel sick and distressed at the end of Daniel 7.
Just on 2300 years after Alexander the Great a friend and I drove across his entire kingdom, from Pakistan into Europe and there isn’t much left to see apart from some ruins, sand, deserts and empty wastelands.
So why does Daniel write about these transient kingdoms? What is the real issue God is trying to reveal to Daniel, and why does it leave him even more depressed and concerned at the end of the vision?
If his world was in chaos, how did he survive with his faith intact? And how do we find the same faith and courage in our current world of chaos, lock-downs, mandates and social polarization?
Maybe the real title should be : Where is God in all this chaos?

This sabbath Pr Jeremy is back with a message called The Original Snake Oil Salesmen: The Righteous Remedy and it's Calamitous Counterfeits, the remedy for sin is the gospel of Jesus Christ but what should be a simple concept has become convoluted and confusing. This sabbath we will look at what salvation really is and two extreme versions of the gospel that we should be very weary of because they can only lead to calamity. Charlie will be taking us through how Jesus' example of humility and selflessness in His last hours before the cross were examples for us as imitators of Jesus, to be servants of service as Jesus constantly was throughout His whole life, in every way, and all the way, to the cross.
We are just about to wrap up our Treasured VBS program and it has been an amazing blessing to the kids that have attended this week as well as the team involved in running the program, this week Pr Jerry’s message will be called: Reflective Gems and he will be expounding on the Treasured theme from the VBS of this past week, recognising that as followers of Jesus we are…TREASURED! The message will look at the ideas that God knows us…he wants to hear from us…he wants to comfort us…he wants to forgive us, and he has chosen us! Pr Andrew West will be visiting us this Sabbath. The Title for the message is: Watch out for the Footholds Synopsis: In Ephesians 4 Paul warns us about giving a foothold to the Devil (NLT). A foothold is “a secure position from which further progress may be made.” This Sabbath we will explore the concept of footholds and how we often, unintentionally can give the enemy a foothold in our lives. Join us as we study together how we can watch out for the footholds.
Reflective question. Has there been a moment in your life that you might have taken something for granted? To what extent does our sense of entitlement in this life makes us fail to show our gratitude?
Did you know that expression of gratitude is a form of worship? This Sabbath, we take a closer look at concept of Gratitude in a sermon titled, ‘An Attitude of Gratitude’. In it, we will studiously walk through the life of some personalities in the New Testament who could not but express their gratitude to the Lord to His acceptance, contrasting that with others whose attitudes prevented them from showing gratitude. Perhaps one’s attitude of gratitude determines his/her spiritual altitude. I prayerfully entreat all to stay putt as we learn to cultivate the attitude of gratitude in our walk with the Lord. It is my prayer that we would all be blessed through this sermon, and from His word.
This week Pr Jeremy will be presenting the second part of his message: Let them Eat Cake: Contrasting Social and Biblical Justice. Justice is important but today it seems like its definition has been somewhat distorted, what is the difference between social justice and biblical justice and why is this distinction important?
In this frantic world, we live in today, we can often get distracted with life and forget the importance of our next generation, I know this is a cliche but it's true, "it takes a village to raise a child". The children in our church are our precious jewels and it's our task and responsibility to support and love them to Christ. They will soon be the church of today so let's encourage and support them as they step into this role. This Sabbath, our children will be leading out the church service followed with a message from our pathfinder leader Sharon Dunn.
Hannah the Associate Pastor at Tauranga SDA Church, and she will be sharing a message with us this Sabbath called “Holding onto Hope”
A little but about Hannah, She is originally from Melbourne Australia and she moved to NZ at the start of last year. she has enjoyed ministering here and seeing God move. Another reason why she likes living in NZ is because she enjoy's hiking and she has had many opportunities to hike around some beautiful places since she has been here.
“Holding onto Hope” is about the life of Joseph, He was not free from difficulty. Not everything that happened to Joseph was good, but God worked out everything for good as he held onto hope during the darkest of times.
On my drive home from our hugely successful Bake Off last Saturday night (Where we raised almost $4000!) I was thinking of how much cake our community would consume over the next week and I was reminded of a certain French princess in the 18th century who had grown out of touch with her community. A messenger one day came to her with the news that her people had run out of bread, she answered “"Qu'ils mangent de la brioche" or in English “Let them eat cake” the quote reflects one of two things, either the princess had complete disdain for her subjects or she was unaware of their plight, either way it is thought that this led to these people, who for so long felt as though they had been unjustly dealt with, rising up and revolting against the aristocracy, resulting in the French Revolution and a period of “enlightenment”. Justice is important but today it seems like it’s definition has been somewhat distorted, what is the difference between social justice and biblical justice and why is this distinction important? This is the thrust of my message this Sabbath, entitled: Let Them Eat Cake: Contrasting Social and Biblical Justice.
The book of Ruth must surely be one of the loveliest short stories ever written, telling an unforgettable tale of purity, faithfulness, innocence, loyalty, duty, and love. Yet it is set in dark times: the final verse of the book of Judges, which precedes Ruth in the Bible, tells us that “in those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.” As one commentator writes, the time was marked by “violent invasions, apostate religion, unchecked lawlessness, and tribal civil war.”It is against this backdrop of strife and chaos that Ruth’s story unfolds—a story of ordinary people in Bethlehem facing everyday events, from loss and dislocation to marriage and family life. In all of this we will see how God reminds us that no matter how dark or dramatic our days may seem, God still protects His people and accomplishes His purposes. Within life’s humdrum and routine events, we discover His loving hand at work, and that ultimately all He asks is for us to be faithful in the ordinary.
This Sabbath we have communion and Pr Jeremy's message is called Grafts & Seeds: Effective Evangelism for Everyone, In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul recounts Jesus' words from The Last Supper, “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.” - 1 Corinthians 11:26, each of us are called to remember the sacrifice of Christ's body and blood and our obligation to proclaim the gospel until Christ returns, but does that look the same for everyone? Though the destination is the same, our directions can be different according to the personalities God has equipped us with. We look forward to seeing you this Sabbath at Hamilton Central!

What or who am I connected to? We are a connected generation, thanks to digital media. We are compelled to check our phones when they beep or vibrate. We want to stay connected. Jesus uses the vine and branches to describe the closeness of the connection He desires with us. Does this connection with Jesus bear fruit that connects others to Jesus? Who am I connected to?
Spiritual Gifts are important, Paul tells us in his letter to the church at Corinth that we shouldn’t be ignorant of what they are and where and how we should use them, then in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians he tells us about the importance of using them corporately as the Body of Christ particularly in relation to the cosmic conflict we are engaged in. This Sabbath Pr Jeremy’s message is called Body Slam: Wrestling with our Spiritual Gifts as the Body of Christ and is part of our Spiritual Gifts Emphasis Sabbath, we look forward to seeing you there and finding out what your Spiritual Gifts are and how you can use them as a part of the Body of Christ!
This week at Hamilton Central we are acknowledging ANZAC Day, a day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58).
Though Jesus didn't begin His earthly ministry until about 1500 years after the events recorded in Exodus and Numbers, a careful dig under the surface of the recorded narrative shows us that He was with the children of Israel all throughout their journey to the Promised Land.
This message looks at the spiritual lessons God wants to teach us through three stories that reveal both Jesus and His gospel to us: the episode of the manna, the water from the split rocks, and the serpent lifted up on the pole.

He doesn’t just make them disappear, He takes them from us and carries them with us! Whatever burden you are experiencing in your life today, you don’t have to carry it alone, give them to Jesus and He will carry it with you.

This week Pastor Josh unpacks the meaning behind Matthew 5:42-48 and how Jesus is calling us to a life of radical generosity. There are a lot of misconceptions people have with this well known passage and it’s well worth looking into it’s practical message for our church today.
We are living in a complicated time and currently surrounded by a lot of fear and unease. In light of this, Pastor Josh shares about peace. Jesus offers us peace but what does this mean? We study peace in both old and new testaments and what this means for us today.
Today’s message is the fourth and final installment of our Influence series based on our church vision which is ‘To be a major Christian Influence in Hamilton'. Pr Josh shares how a disciple of Christ is not just a follower but also one who leads and makes other disciples. This means it’s imperative for our church to build up leaders to go out and influence our city.
"I'm so busy" has become the stock-standard badge of merit in today's society, and we are often encouraged to stretch our schedules to the limit in order to achieve success. But this is exhausting! In comparison, the Bible reassures us that we are covered by CHRIST'S righteousness, not our own - this means that we don't have to worry about proving our worth, our identity is in Him. So let's stop focusing on the expectations of the world, and start putting our trust exclusively in Jesus!
