Interview with Gretchen Stecher, a brilliant Somatic Psychotherapist, and Educator. She is also my long-time soul sister and colleague. We talk about divorce...finding positivity and light through 12-Steps, spirituality, and releasing resentments.
Gretchen went through a painful divorce in 1997. During her separation in 1996, she began her 20+ year membership in 12 Step programs. In the ensuing years, her personal growth adventure brought her to Boulder, Colorado where she earned her master's degree in counseling.
Gretchen has worked in the mental health field for 20 years. She served as adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Psychology at Naropa University, is a certified somatic trauma specialist, and is trained in EMDRII. Certified in 2001 as a sexual assault and domestic violence counselor, Gretchen is a body-centered psychotherapist in Boulder, CO. She is a published author featured in the 2015 Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly Journal, Vol. 33(2) and in chapter 9 of the 2019 book “Life Coach”. Her expertise is helping women release anxiety and resentments, learn to trust themselves, and connect to their internal Home.
