Looking at every recorded statement by Jesus, one verse at a time. 

In Matthew 4:4, Jesus said: “It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Him overcoming Satan's deceit and temptations was an essential aspect of our eternal redemption. His victory is our victory.
