This week at Hope, we celebrated baptism Sunday with several people publicly professing faith in Jesus and uniting with the body of Christ. In the message, we explored the meaning of this ancient Christian ordinance through the lens of symbol, statement, and spiritual warfare. Witnessing a baptism reminds us of the power of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and invites us to reflect on how that pattern of dying to self and being given new life  continues as we grow as apprentices of Jesus.
