Many of us may know the problem that we feel the urge to check our social media presences for new messages. This is a waste of time, especially when there is no new unread message. However, in the same way, enabling notifications can be very distractive. Sounds, lights, pop-ups, they all not only remind us about new messages but have the risk to distract us severely from our current task.
