British Author Clare Boyd writes domestic noir where on the surface things look good in the lives of her characters but scratch the surface and there’s a different story underneath. In Clare’s latest book The Pretty One she mines her experience as a model from age 15 to her early twenties to tell the story of Nell, who is scouted by an agent to enter the modeling world and it’s this that sets in motion the cracking of the veneer of her family’s seeming idyllic, domestic life.
