Mission The youth are the future of society. Our mission is to help communities by developing and empowering its most important members - Young people. We strategically strive for a focus on education and skills development.

Core Objectives Education – Helping young children in their journey through education by redressing gaps caused by lack of access to schoolbooks, uniforms and other learning aids. Youth development – Giving young people access to information that will help them make informed decisions regarding careers, finances, education, personal relationships, and so forth.

Current projects

Bekithemba on Education Bekithemba on Education was the launching project for the foundation. After recognizing the inequalities in impoverished communities and the effects of that on education of young children; we decided to act. We decided to identify and partner with all public primary schools in the area of Orange Farm. We approached all the principals and gave them the responsibility of identifying minimum of 20 learners from impoverished homes who lacked basic school uniform. We then took it upon ourselves to focus on buying school jerseys and socks for them; in exchange for entering into social contracts with us.

With limited financial resources we have managed to buy school jerseys and socks for 40 learners from 2 schools. Our ultimate plan is to hand over 460 school jerseys and socks by WINTER 2016 (June 2016). This is the total number of 20 learners per school multiplied by 23 schools identified.

Our approach is unique in the sense that it instills a culture of responsibility, accountability and Ubuntu in our young children. In the social contracts they sign with Bekithemba Foundation they undertake to stay and focus in school, be respectful to their teachers and to give back to the school they went to after completing their education. We have a specific bias and preference to partner with as many girl children as possible.

Currently we are actively looking for donations and contributions to make this important project a success. We know investing in the education of young children will create a brighter future, a healthy economy and vibrant society.
