A talk about murder and offending, or being a peace maker, "A city on the Hill." Matt 5:6-7; We looked at the Beatitudes, where we are called to loving obedience. Matt 5:22 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment…" Jesus has come to be the full intent of what God is trying communicating to us through a triad: 1) traditional teaching, 2) Vicious Cycle "But I say to you..."; and 3) Transforming Initiative, how we interpret and change into a new being. The ultimate goal is not to stop sinning, but to be more like Him."

The traditional Teaching is v. 21 "Though shall not murder."

Vicious Cycle v. 22, "But I say that anyone who is angry with their brother is guilty of this sin." Insult means to be empty headed. "You Foul" means to attack someone's relationship with God. Anyone who is offended by his brother is guilty of living in judgment, a vicious cycle.

Transforming Initiative vv. 23-26; To become an intentional peace maker. Our job is to fix the our offence towards others; It's not their job to tell us we are offensive. Blessed are the Peace Makers, for they shall be called the Sons of God; but choosing to become more like Jesus.

Jesus showed us in word and deed: In the garden of Gethsemane, after Peter cut off the guard's ear; Jesus said stop! "I come to make peace." If we continue to sin after we have the knowledge of God, sacrifices can not help us. Hold off taking communion till we had a chance to ask for forgiveness from those we have offended.
