Speaking as part of the University of Cambridge's 'Brexit Week' - which took place from 18 to 22 October 2016 - Jonathan Portes gives his response to the discussion topic of 'The UK and Brexit: How, why and where now?'.

Jonathan Portes is a Principal Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, and a Senior Fellow of UK in a Changing Europe initiative. Previously, he was Chief Economist at the Cabinet Office, where he advised the then Cabinet Secretary, Gus O’Donnell, and Number 10 on economic and financial issues.
