It is estimated that childhood cancer kills more children annually than any other diseases including HIV/AIDS. 70% of all childhood cancers are 100% curable if diagnosed in time. Too many children in South Africa and in Africa die of cancer every year. This is not because South Africa does not have effective treatment, but due to obstacles children and their loved ones face in gaining access to cancer treatment. In most cases, awareness, education and knowledge are key when it comes to early detection and getting treatment on time. In this edition of Tam Tam Express, we put the spotlight on cancer in general and we also talk about a Voice for Cancer.
