The Warriors begin a life without Malibongwe Maketa today when they kick-off their Momentum One-Day Cup season against the bizhub Highveld Lions at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The 50-over franchise competition comes hot on the heels of the 20-over campaign, which was won by the Multiply Titans and concluded on Sunday. The Warriors were losing semi-finalists to the Titans in what proved to be Maketa’s final game. The former coach has now moved on to work as assistant coach for the Proteas, with Rivash Gobind stepping in. The new man is looking forward to the challenge.
