Cricket South Africa chief executive officer Haroon Lorgat confirmed that Proteas coach Russell Domingo’s contract has been extended until 2016. Speaking after yesterday’s CSA Annual General Meeting held at the OR Tambo International Airport Protea Hotel, Lorgat said that Domingo and his management team had ensured a seamless transition from the previous coach and players and that they wanted no uncertainty with the national team ahead of next year’s Cricket World Cup……

Lorgat said he was satisfied with the finances of CSA after the organization posted a profit of R199million at the end of their four year cycle. CSA had expected to post higher earnings had it not been for the shortened tour by India at the end of last year but Lorgat said they had been forced into coming up with some creative means of making up that money and also lessening spending…..

Lorgat said that he was also satisfied with the culture of good governance within the organization and that all the decisions taken by CSA have always been with the best interest of the game at heart……

Lorgat says that CSA and its affiliates will need to find new ways of doing things if they are to sustain and grow the game of cricket……SABC Sport journalist Vata Ngobeni reports
