Hello, and welcome back to one final edition of ContextClues. This (very brief) episode is to finish up some housekeeping, look towards the future, and offer a blooper reel just for funsies before saying goodbye.

As you know, work can and will only be accepted until midnight tonight. Anything turned in after midnight can’t and won’t be graded. I’ll grade as quickly as possible to get grades submitted so they’ll pop up for folks who completed all their evals. There will be some kind of a curve on the final grades, but I don’t know what it will be until I see the final breakdown of everyone’s raw grades. I won’t, however, choose a curve that would affect anyone negatively.

As I emailed you about, WKU has decided to make a process through which students who faced COVID-related hardships can, if they so choose, apply for a Pass if they receive a C or better in the class but don’t want that grade to affect their GPA. There’s a specific process to do this, so if that’s something you decide you want, please refer to the email for the appropriate steps.

I hope this class has been useful for learning more about how theatre works and learning to appreciate - see what I did there? - the incredible diversity of storytelling possible in theatre, as well as the diversity of skills theatre artists posses. If this class has made you interested in learning more about theatre, getting involved in theatre, or you’re wondering what benefits the skill set of theatre as a minor or major might have towards your non-theatrical career goals, my inbox is always open. Now that we’ve done a class together, I will remain accessible to you as a resource if you find yourself with theatre-related questions in the future. WKU’s performance database that we used to watch several of our shows is still available to you as a student, so until live theatre returns I strongly encourage you to check out what’s on offer.

This has been a challenging and strange semester. There may have been times you felt like you just couldn’t get things right...

[Podcast bloopers]

There may have been times you found yourself questioning your choices...

[Podcast bloopers]

And there may have been times when it felt like nothing was making sense, not even a little bit...

[Podcast bloopers]

But the semester is over and you made it through. Thank you for your patience, your time, and your attention, and have a wonderful, restful holiday season. And as they say, “it’s not goodbye, just goodbye for now.”*

*If you’re a transcript-only person, this is corny in this context but is actually a joke about the ending audio clip. I do, however, like y’all a lot.
