Oftentimes, when we think about inviting our children into the kitchen to spend time cooking and eating with us, we think about how that is an expression of compassion toward them. We don't always think about showing compassion to ourselves.

As we begin this series on compassion in and around the cooking is connecting mindset, I think it's important for us to start with ourselves and how we can show ourselves compassion as a way of helping us to prepare for to be more attuned and present parents and caregivers for our children.
