Arizona Senator Jeff Flake questioned Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about the status of religious freedom in Rwanda. The Kagame government has closed more than 8,000 churches in the first half of 2018 and has made it illegal for citizens to gather for prayer or worship in any place other than government approved buildings.

85 years ago this August, 63 Assyrian villages in the Dohuk and Mosul districts of modern-day Iraq were attacked by the newly formed Iraqi Army. As many as 6,000 Assyrians were brutally murdered. The Assyrian people are still seeking justice.
