Stay in your lane. Jesus is your lane according to John 14:6 where He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me." Jeremiah 6:16 advises us to "Stand in the crossroads and Ask for the Good Way and walk in it." In Luke 9:23, Jesus defines discipleship by instructing us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and to follow Him. God has written about about each of our lives in His book (Psalm 139:16) and He says His plans are good for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Could it be that this instruction given in Luke 9 is as simple as this: God our Father has given all of who He is and what He has to us and He asks us to do the same? Could it be that He asks us to desire nothing more than what He created us for? What is that, you ask? To be one with Him. To know that He loves us as He loves Jesus. To not think that He will misuse and abuse us but will be faithful to carry out HIs Word. I believe that self-denial and the tree of sacrifice/the cross is an invitation to live Philippians 2:5-8. Jesus came to fulfill God's desire/will-to redeem us. We also have an invitation to think, to feel, to desire, to be nothing outside of what God desires/designed. It all boils down to trust? Do we believe God will cheat us? Or can we walk with confidence in The Way? Indeed, the God who is Truth, Light and Love can be trusted. Let's stay in our Lane.
