 Naturally happening process of apex closure
 Not manually done by dentist
 Tooth should be vital
 IPC, DPC & Pulpotomy stimulates Apexogenesis
 In young Permanent Teeth – to promote root closure

APEXIFICATION
 In young permanent teeth
 Exposure time:- if crosses 72 hrs / 2 days
 Tooth becomes non-vital
 Trauma / caries cases
 Removal of entire pulp – both coronal and radicular
 Create MTA plug at the apex
 Wait for 1 year approx.
 Root length remains the same
 The periodontal tissues near or around the root end becomes hardened / calcified – hence closure of apex
 After 1year, check if calcific barrier is formed at the apex with radiographic diagnosis
