As part of VOICINGS, we begin a new series of poetry readings, AROUND A BLUE SUN, equally conceived as sonic experiments.
For the first episode, we focus on Elizabeth Bishop's poem "One Art".
Through a radical "versioning" that propels the poem into an experience of its own potential loss, we ask how Bishop's lesson in the art of losing can help prepare us to confront present and future disasters, and in them discover the seeds of new beginnings?
As Jean-Luc Godard puts it, "A catastrophe / is the first strophe / of a love poem".
