The intent of this chapter is to expand your existing knowledge of diversity and consider other less-obvious elements that contribute to overall organizational performance. You'll learn to identify how similarities and differences help define you as an individual and you as a valuable member of the Air Force team. Then you'll learn about the six Socio-Behavioral Tendencies (SBTs) and how they can lead to discrimination. After that, you'll focus on how policies and leadership decisions play an important role in enabling you to provide what's called a "diversity-supportive environment" for your Airmen.
