At the start of the episode, Rick shares that he tested positive from COVID-19 and what it has been like for him.

Lauren and Rick then begin talking about their subject of reframing 2020. The two warn that just because the calendar will soon say 2021, that does not mean that all our problems are solved.

Lauren recalls a memory of how she felt when Knox County schools decided to go all virtual. With sharing this, she reveals that she has often felt two contradictory things at the same time throughout 2020. Likewise, Rick explains that he thought he knew how he would end his career, but his plans have had to change dramatically.

Lauren cautions that we shouldn't just throw away this last year and try to forget it; instead, we should try to reexamine it and find the good and the lessons in the year.

Rick transitions into talking about empathy and love, and how important they are and commanded by Jesus.

Lauren and Rick close the episode by expressing how this year has made them value the relationships in their life even more than they already did.
