After Rick introduces Dr. Harv Powers, Harv begins talking about crucibles and inflection points in life. He shares that crucible times often come with disorientation and distress, which is why it's important to have someone to help guide you through it.
Lauren mentions her organization Project Gabriel because she discloses that a lot of women there have had major crucibles.
In thinking about crucibles and realizing you are going through one, Harv brings up a line from Dante's Inferno.
Lauren makes a connection to what Harv has said about crucibles and seeking help when you're going through one to her daughter's recent diagnoses with dyslexia and what she and her family are going through with that diagnoses.
Harv transitions into discussing how important it is to not just distract ourselves with things instead of dealing with the issues arising in us head on. He brings up the deeper things that have surfaced because of COVID.
Harv then mentions several people in the Bible who went through crucibles themselves, like Moses, Joseph, and David.
Harv, Rick, and Lauren all convey how important it is to stay in the present, take the right next step, and not rely on previous coping mechanisms that we might have. Harv speaks directly to people who are just now realizing that they are going through a crucible, then directly to people who are in the thick of a crucible. He mentions a verse in 2 Corinthians as a resource.
